About this Event

The NSIN Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIA), powered by FedTech, pairs teams of entrepreneurs with Department of Defense scientists and technologists to build dual-use ventures, commercialize DoD lab technologies, and solve the real-world problems for the Department.

During Phase I of DIA, 24 teams participated in a rigorous customer discovery process and 12 promising teams were selected into Phase II. During Phase II, these 12 teams continued the commercialization process through company formation and pursuing technology licensing and funding opportunities. This intensive program culminates with two finale events that are open to the public. Read more about the Phase II teams.

Each team was formed around a cutting-edge technology sourced from top-tier Department of Defense. From autonomous systems to artificial intelligence, the Defense Innovation Accelerator Demo Week will feature teams of entrepreneurs presenting their businesses to an audience of investors, government partners, industry experts, and fellow entrepreneurs. Teams will do a live pitch before going to a live Q&A. The audience will be able to ask questions and vote for their favorite choice.

The events of Demo Week include:

  • DEC 01, 2020 - Poster Session and Networking Event - The event will be hosted in Gather.town, virtual networking platform The event is open to the public.
  • DEC 03, 2020 - Demo Day - The top 6 teams will pitch live to the audience and panel of judges. The event is open to the public.
