NSIN is pleased to amplify the 2023 HBCU Entrepreneur’s Week hosted by Jackson State University’s College of Business. The mission of HBCU Entrepreneur’s Week is to make interdisciplinary entrepreneurship experiences, opportunities, and resources accessible to students, alumni, faculty, and staff from all 101 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as well as local business owners and community members interested in learning more and engaging in the ecosystem.

HBCU Entrepreneur’s Week helps raise the visibility of federal government talent, training and funding opportunities, and aligns to NSIN’s FY24 goal to increase the number of HBCUs in our programming. To accomplish this goal, NSIN is collaborating with the DoD HBCU/MI Program to:

  • Identify and introduce HBCU/MI small businesses to mission partners.
  • Work with HBCU/MI faculty to identify solution discovery and solution implementation courses for mission partner problems.
  • NSIN programming that focuses on talent.
  • NSIN programming that focuses on team and company formation.

Several HBCUs will also host individual events outside the lead program, including Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis that will host panels on financial literacy and accessibility along with networking opportunities.
